Purple is the New Black

This morning brought about a nice, cool breeze, reminding me that Summer is gone.  As much as I will miss the warm days of Summer, there is something about the crisp, cool air on Fall mornings that I just love.  As it usually goes, with change, comes about newness.  Taking that deep breath inspired me to write about one of the newer wedding trends....PURPLE.

I'm sure for many of you, purple is not a color that rushes to your mind when you think of the colors that you want for your wedding, but the thing that I love about purple is that there are so many shades, from magenta  to violet, and everything in between, there are ways that you can incorporate this bold color into your wedding if you so choose.

From the Classical Era, purple was seen as a color of royalty because only the elite could afford the Tyrian purple, which is a purple reddish dye that was created by the ancient Phoenicians (thanks Wikipedia for that history lesson!)

Go ahead, add a little royalty to your Wedding!

I love the Wedding invitation that Kojo Designs created.  It has just enough purple without being overpowering.

They have tons of other inspiring Wedding ideas.

In case you have never heard of them, Kojo Designs  is the brainchild of two very creative sisters.  How great would it be to work with your sister!  For more great Kojo Designs, click here.

The Power of Customer Service and the Sundown Rule

When planning any event, I always try to put myself in the shoes of my client.  If they are anything like me when I am the one that has an event which needs to be planned, I am anxious and excited about the event at hand...Will my idea work?  Can I afford it?  Will it turn out anything like like I envision?

For as long as I can remember, I have worked in an industry that requires customer service.  What I have learned over the years, and what is difficult to find, is GREAT customer serivce.  What happened to the sundown rule?  If you say that you are going to provide some type of information, then please do so.  Even if you have no answer, then please just call or email to let me know that.

It amazes me that when I speak to prospects or potential clients, or even what I expereince myself, is the lack of customer service that exists today.  And yet we continue to pay for this lack of service.  Friends and fellow collegues call me a fanatic when it comes to this topic, but to me, it is important.

My point in saying all of this?  When looking for a Vendor or any Service Provider, make sure that they can put themselves in your shoes.  Make sure they have a sundown rule.

I promise it makes a world of difference in the level of service you will receive and minimizes your stress level!
